Many speed problems can be solved using the speed triangle. (Think of Eat my dust!) The following examples will show how to use it. |

Here, we are looking for the speed. This gives us D over T. Answer. Speed = distance/time = 10/5 = 2 km/hr. |

Here, we are looking for the distance. This gives us S by T. Answer. distance = speed x time = 60x3 = 180 km.. |

Here, we are looking for the time. This gives us D over S. Answer. time = distance/speed = 18/12 = 1.5 hr. |
